The whole story line could've been magical: wonderful. I just wish there wasn't this overall pious tone throughout them, especially regarding women. I wanted to like the books-and I listened to them. There was a lightness to that part of the story that was refreshing. Throughout all of the books I wanted to hear more about the ancient city and Ivory and his teacher. I go out of my way avoiding books that he narrates. However even though he is always prepared, I don't care for his voice. I know Sean Runette has narrated a lot of books. How did the narrator detract from the book? The way women are treated throughout the whole story is so negative and moronic. What was most disappointing about Bobby Adair and T.W. What would have made The Last Refuge better? McLeod Andrews should have been the narrator
